The History of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. was founded on January 16, 1920 at Howard University. Five lovely women, known as the Five Pearls started this sorority to promote the principles: Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love, and Finer Womanhood. Zeta Phi Beta is the first and only sorority to have a constitutinally bound with a fraternity. (Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.). This sorority has made  numerous contributions to the world. Becoming the first sorority to charter international chapters in the Bahamas, West Germany, and Liberia. Also, Zeta Phi Beta became the first sorority to establish an auxilliary group for non-collegiate women and youth (Amicae, Archonettes, Amicettes, and Pearlettes).
 
The motto is A Community-Conscious, Action-Oriented Organization
